About this specialty
Radiology covers the interpretation of CT, MRI and plain imaging, with a focus on neuroradiology and paediatric radiology — imaging of the brain, spinal cord and nerves, and diagnostic imaging in children.
A radiology report is a reading, not a final fact, and a second reading of the same images by a subspecialist changes the diagnosis in a meaningful share of complex cases. If a major surgical or treatment decision rests on a single report, having it reviewed is a reasonable step.
